Maintenance-free
lead-acid battery
The
correct use and maintenance of the battery mainly have the following 9 points:
1.
Check if the fixing bolt of the battery on the bracket is tight. If the
installation is not secure, the housing will be damaged due to the running
vibration. Also, do not place metal objects on the battery to prevent short
circuits.
2.
Always check if the pole and terminal are connected reliably. To prevent
oxidation of the terminal, a protective agent such as petroleum jelly can be
applied.
3.
It is not possible to check the battery's power by direct ignition
(short-circuit test), which may cause damage to the battery.
4.
Ordinary lead-acid batteries should pay attention to the regular addition of
distilled water. The dry charge battery should be properly charged before use.
As for the maintenance-free battery that can be added with water, it is not
impossible to maintain proper inspection. If necessary, supplement the
distilled water to help extend the service life.
5.
The air holes on the battery cover should be unobstructed. When the battery is
charged, a large amount of air bubbles will be generated. If the vent hole is
blocked, the gas cannot escape. When the pressure is increased to a certain
extent, the battery case will burst.
6.
There is often a yellow-white paste around the battery pole and cover. This is
because sulfuric acid corrodes the root column, line card, fixing frame, etc.
The resistance of these substances is very large and should be removed in time.
7.
When the two or more batteries need to be used in series, the capacity of the
batteries is preferably equal. Otherwise it will affect the battery life.
Generally,
such maintenance-free batteries can be stored for 10 months from the factory to
the use, and the voltage and capacitance remain unchanged. The voltage and
capacitance of the poor quality will decrease after about 3 months from the
factory. If you choose to leave the production date for 3 months at the time of
purchase, you can check whether the voltage and capacitance of the battery meet
the requirements on the manual. If the voltage and capacitance are reduced, the
material inside is not good, then the quality is definitely not good. It may be
that the water battery is disguised after being charged by the dealer.
8.
Maintenance of maintenance-free lead-acid battery electrolyte
Check
the residual acid in the acid pool. If it is less than 1/4 of the acid pool,
the pure water that meets the technical requirements should be injected into
the acid-containing tank to make it reach 2/3 of the liquid level. The amount
of concentrated sulfuric acid in accordance with the technical requirements is
added in a ratio of about 4:1. When adding concentrated sulfuric acid, first
put the plastic stirrer into the acid pool for stirring, then slowly pour the
concentrated sulfuric acid into the acid pool to prevent the sulfuric acid from
splashing; when the acid is mixed, pay attention to the temperature of the acid
pool. When the temperature in the acid pool is greater than 60 °C, immediately
stop adding sulfuric acid, add pure water or stir to cool, when the temperature
of the acid liquid drops below 45 °C, then re-adjust according to the required
acid specific gravity by adding pure water or sulfuric acid; 5.2.3 Preparation
of electrolyte for battery: When the temperature of the electrolyte in the acid
pool is lowered to room temperature, the actual value is measured by a
hydrometer and a thermometer. When the actual temperature and the specific
gravity of the electrolyte meet the requirements, the weight of the dilute
sulfuric acid is taken. .4 If the preparation of the electrolyte is not at room
temperature, it can be corrected according to the following formula: d25 = dt +
0.00075 × (t-25) (g / cm3): where d25 represents the density converted to the
standard temperature (25 ° C); Dt is the measured density; t is the temperature
of the electrolyte when the specific gravity is measured.
9.
The battery should not be placed for a long time, and the battery that has been
deactivated for a long time should be charged and maintained regularly.
There
is an internal self-discharge problem in the battery. The self-discharge amount
is about 2% per day. That is to say, a fully charged battery, even if it is not
used at a time, will be discharged by internal self-discharge after a long
time. In the case of a battery that is depleted, the plates are quickly
sulfated, which greatly impairs the storage capacity. Therefore, the battery
that has been deactivated for a long time should be recharged once a month for
the battery, about 10 hours each time.
If
the battery has been left for a long time, the battery vulcanization phenomenon
occurs. After the battery is fully charged, it can be repaired by using the
battery online maintenance instrument for about 20 days, and the capacity can
be restored.
